Kimberly Bernard Karol, APR, CFRE, our first Head of Development, has made significant and award-winning contributions in all areas of fundraising. To know Kimberly is to know that she is serious about catalyzing far-reaching change through philanthropy.
She comes to the Global Methane Hub from The Nature Conservancy, where she served as the Deputy Director of Global Development and implemented strategic fundraising initiatives, including campaigns, communications, and DEI programs.
Before The Nature Conservancy, Kimberly helped increase giving at Prairie View A&M University, a historically Black university in Texas, by launching award-winning marketing and communications stewardship strategies and identifying and cultivating new philanthropic relationships.
She has also held positions with The University of Texas Health Science Center, Teach for America, Drexel University, and The Aspen Institute, bringing broad experiences to engage diverse communities to effect meaningful and inclusive change.
Kimberly recently joined the board of capracare, a nonprofit that provides low-income communities in Haiti access to education, health care, and disaster relief services.
She also serves as an instructor in the Art of Fundraising program at the Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership at Rice University and actively volunteers for the Association of Donor Relations Professionals and the Public Relations Society of America.
Kimberly holds a Bachelor of Arts from Baylor University, a Master in Public Administration from New York University, and certificates in Corporate Communications and Corporate Sustainability from Cornell University.
