Currently serving as the Program Assistant at Global Methane Hub, Emily plays a crucial role in supporting the efforts of the Partnership Team, including the Chief Partnership Officer and the regional leads. Emily’s diverse background showcases her abilities as an adept coordinator with a keen eye for detail, precise planning skills, as well as her unwavering passion for the environment and her commitment to taking action on climate issues.
Prior to her current role, Emily optimized operational systems on the US/Mexico international border as the Manager of the National Butterfly Center, a 100-acre wildlife preserve. She also aided in conservation efforts of the world’s most trafficked animal – the white-bellied pangolin – at the Gladys Porter Zoo and directed after-school programs to inspire girls from underprivileged communities to pursue STEM careers at Girlstart. Emily has also served as an AmeriCorps member, where she led the coordination efforts for community engagement and the development of urban green spaces at Our City Forest.
Additionally, she conducted various research projects at The University of Texas that focused on Venezuelan parrotlets’ vocal pattern development and the concentration of micro-plastic pollution in waters surrounding South Padre Island.
Emily earned a Summa Cum Laude Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and Biology from the University of Texas. She enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her two cats.
