Elise Edwards joins Global Methane Hub as the Chief of Staff and Operations. With experience in the government and non-profit sectors, she thrives on creating systems and processes for impact, creative problem-solving, and motivating teams. A highly efficient organizer and detailed planner, she executes flawlessly in fast-paced environments and embraces the need for adaptability, flexibility, and humor in all circumstances. She is skilled at creating trusting relationships across cultures, hierarchies, and functions.
After a decade in Washington, D.C., Elise most recently served as the Chief of Staff at a research farm and educational center in upstate NY. Her previous roles include Director, Executive Programs at the United Nations Foundation where she managed the Board of Directors, directed special projects and initiatives, and helped lead diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. She also oversaw strategic planning and execution of international experiential learning trips, connecting donors, lawmakers, and on the ground changemakers to strengthen public-private partnerships and mobilize resources in support of the United Nations.
Elise began her career as a diplomat with the U.S. State Department, serving overseas tours in Indonesia, Democratic Republic of Congo, and Iraq and in the Executive Secretariat in Washington, D.C., advancing travel and managing briefing materials for the Secretary of State.
Elise received her master’s degree in organizational leadership from Gonzaga University and her bachelor’s degree in French and international studies from Hope College. She enjoys traveling, reading, sports, and wine.
