Sinead Leahy is a respected scientist and the Principal Science Adviser at the New Zealand Agricultural Greenhouse Gas Research Centre (NZAGRC). With over 15 years of experience in the field of agricultural science and climate change, she is a leading expert in greenhouse gas mitigation strategies for the agricultural sector.
Sinead received her Ph.D. in microbiology and biochemistry from University College Cork, Ireland. Since then, she has worked in a variety of research and advisory roles in New Zealand, including as a Senior Research Scientist at AgResearch and as the NZAGRC International Capability and Training Coordinator.
At the NZAGRC, Sinead currently oversees the development of research programmes and initiatives aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions from agricultural activities. Her work includes collaborating with farmers and growers, rural professionals, industry leaders, science, and government agencies to identify and implement innovative research solutions to this complex challenge.
Sinead is also a sought-after speaker and has presented her research at numerous national and international conferences. She is widely recognised for her expertise and contributions to the field of agricultural science, and she continues to play a vital role in shaping research and practices that promote sustainable agriculture and mitigate the impacts of climate change.
