D’Seanté Parks joins the Global Methane Hub to lead our communications efforts. She has consulted us for the past six months from public affairs firm SKDK where she served as a senior vice president. She is also the founder of civic empowerment platform 1000 MORE. Her passion for civic engagement started young, growing up in a low-income, underserved community. Her family is from Shreveport, Louisiana and she was born and raised in Fort Worth,Texas. After graduating from Louisiana State University with a degree in political communication, she started a decade-long career in communication and political strategy for public, private and non-profit organizations. She has worked on federal, state and local elections, including on U.S. Senate campaigns for Senators Mary Landrieu and Kamala Harris. She completed a Master of Public Policy degree at the Harvard Kennedy School and has contributed to several published works about the roots of propaganda in America and combatting misinformation.
